I Am Groot
If you love Groot and watched the movie you too fell in love with baby Groot. Maybe even asked if you could have your own pet baby Groot. This movie is hilarious and Groot totally made the movie! I highly recommend watching if you haven’t already.
Have you ever made something you thought was just right and then did something and thought, “Well that just happened!” I did that when I made the cutest vintage Mickey Mouse that looked so much like the real Mickey and then a couple drops of water dropped on him. As I instinctively quickly wiped the water off it smudged the colors across the page. I think I even said it out loud “Well that just happened.” However, after showing it to my very encouraging husband he said, “Well I think it’s kind of cool like you meant to do it.” But seriously, art isn’t perfect. Even mistakes turn out to be masterpieces. How many times have you finished something and found you misspelled a word because you were so focused on the art of lettering or smudged your art or maybe your pet walked across your drying painting?
Anyone else remember Swans ice cream, push pops, or this silly little type writer. It’s the simple things that bring back some of the greatest memories. Anyone have pictures or childhood memories with orange push pop ice cream dripping down your face? I don’t even know why but this silly typewriter was something I loved even before i went to kindergarten. The clipping of the old ford is from a 1960s boys life magazine. How fun is that! I love a super great vintage find to add to my art journals. Sorry collectors 😬. I can’t help myself! I love collage art and the older the magazines the better!

Remember to record your favorite memories. Even if they don’t seem significant at the time. It’s a nice way to reflect back on how you felt and remember time shared with those you love.
For me art is like my mental photograph. One day I will have my art journals to read when I’m old or to gift to my children.
My husband and I went to see the newest marvel movie over the weekend. It beautifully depicted black history and feminism. However, not at all prepared, I had expected something with humor like the more recent marvel movies have been. Make sure you watch previews and know what to expect. Overall, it was another amazing date with my amazing husband and a good movie. I wouldn’t recommend the movie if your looking for humor but I would highly recommend the movie for some very important highlights in history.
It’s fun to reflect on older journal spreads and compare them with my newer spreads. It’s also nice to look back and read through older spreads and reflect on that day or time. It’s nice to have older journals to reflect on good memories of family, travel, and personal growth. It’s also nice to review older spreads and remember how I felt on those days. It’s obvious the brighter spreads were made with more optimism and joy.
Do you use every space inside your journals? I like to cover the inside cover with art and I use the last page to write prompts, writing ideas, vocabulary words, websites and blogs to follow and other various ideas for my journal. What makes your journaling unique?

I needed a simple way to organize my stamps and a simple way to carry them with me when I travel for journaling. I created an insert for my midori travelers notebook from envelopes and vellum papers. I glued the envelopes back to back and used a simple envelope template to make the miniature vellum envelopes for organizing my stamps. It’s simple and inexpensive and works well inside my travelers notebook. I couldn’t find what I wanted so I made it. I’ve also made another insert to hold my magazine clippings. Well be traveling more this year so it was important to me to have something small and easy to take with us.
Do you remember any of these vintage toys? I think every kid had a viewfinder and never enough discs to view. Did you have tang? My favorite was romper room with the magic mirror. I waited every show for her to call my name! And Saturday morning cartoons. We’d get up earlier than anyone else and watch the fuzzy black and white tv waiting for the rainbow and then the cartoons. We said we were watching the ant races. What are your favorite childhood memories?
Anyone can love a rose, but it takes a lot to love a leaf. It’s ordinary to love the beautiful but it’s beautiful to love the ordinary.
Don’t forget to love yourself for Valentine’s Day. Don’t be afraid to love yourself. You are important and you matter too. Much love and happy Valentine’s Day.
There’s plenty of opportunities to look for good in people. It’s much better to see people as people, accept we are all flawed, and look for positive qualities. In turn you will begin to feel more positive and spread positive vibes. People are drawn to other positive people. Do not worry about anything, instead pray about everything. Phil. 4:6
There’s nothing better than a green tea frappe and a new #=moleskine art journal all in the same day. There’s a lot of love in my almost finished moleskine. Look at all the yummy thickness compared to my new journal. Lots of love and memories inside that journal. We had a snow storm today and I drove an hour for a dr appointment. I only saw one wreck on the way. The roads were terrible. I made good use of my day and stopped at Barnes and noble for my moleskine, hobby lobby and micheals for embellishments and washi tape. I made time for Starbucks so I could create in my new journal and then to the dr and home again. Even though I hate snow and cold weather the day has been m memorable with some very great things what do you do on your cold or more stressful days? Do you make art or do you find something you enjoy so you have good memories?
On days with pain I love to spend time in our local coffee shop and add collage art and write in my art journal. The best therapy happens with my beats, Mozart, and a tasty frappe. Sometimes my best thoughts and quotes come from these times of writing and creating. What’s your favorite thing to do that helps release stress or pain?
Love the Lord yourGod with all your heartand all your strength. Deuteronomy 6:4,5 meditate on the word while coloring. The most beautiful type of therapy, coloring with Jesus. Warmer days to come. Makes me think of tropical weather and the warm ocean. This is the perfect kind of coloring therapy during colder days and even better for warmer days. Dreaming of the ocean and someplace tropical.
Valentine’s Day printable art. What’s going your favorite Valentine’s Day memory?
When I was little my mom gave me and my siblings a ceramic heart filled with homemade chocolates. She poured glazed and fired the ceramic hearts and made the chocolates herself. It made Valentine’s Day my favorite holiday.
What’s your favorite Valentine’s Day memory?
I’m super excited to share some of my newest art with you all. I’ve made several new coloring pages with #succulent prints. These can be used as wall art or coloring pages. I prefer to color mine but the print is so simple it could be used as an art print if someone chose to.This is one of my favorite and one of the most fun to color. Again, I used prisma color colored pencils because they are my favorite for blending.
This is one I started when taking a break for some art therapy at our local coffee shop. I’m sure there are some really super colorers out there who could do a much nicer job coloring this but it was relaxing and therapeutic for me. That’s all that matters.
The Gift is Yours. Seek knock and it will be given to you. Restoration and healing in exchange for forgiving the one who’s hurt you.
Forgive the one who needs forgiven because the benefits far outweighs the hardening of your heart for carrying in forgiveness in your heart. It’s not always easy but worth it when you’ve done it.
If forgiving someone who’s hurt you isn’t something you think you can do ask God for help. We aren’t meant to do things alone. The Bible tells us we are strong in him and he rejoices when we come to him. How much more can a perfect father give his children when we are imperfect parents and wish to spoil our children. He wants to help you. The Bible also says you do not have because you haven’t asked. Seek knock and it will be given to you. It’s ok to ask for help in forgiving those who are hard to forgive and its for you more than it is for the forgiven. It doesn’t matter if the one who hurt you deserves your forgiveness or if it goes unnoticed, remember the true gift is the healing you receive once you’ve forgiven.
