What exactly is a brain dump? Well, on the days I have artist block because there’s far too many things on my mind it helps to write it all down somewhere. Sometimes I write it down inside my art journal and then I can create on other pages. And we’ll, if I don’t like it there I can always cover my words with a collage later. That’s the beautiful thing about collage and art. The things you can do are without limit.
Being an artist is great. It’s the one area in life where I don’t have to follow the rules and I can jot down, write down, or doodle anything I want in my journals. What do you do when you have artist block?
The only thing we have to fear is fear itself. FDR
While studying the history of the Great Depression and dealing with anxiety resulting from chronic pain I made these journal pages a couple years ago. This was one of my favorite and mostly because the older I get the more I love history. I think history is a very important part of our lives. It’s important we don’t allow the most tragic of histories events repeat themselves. The best way of preventing those events are through studying and wisdom of those events. What is your favorite thing to study or learn about? I also love learning about other cultures, races, and peoples. The world is such an interesting place and so are it’s people.
Here is a flip through for your inspiration.
Sharing ideas and inspiration for other artists who enjoy doodling, writing, and creating in journals. These are some of my favorite. a couple of these are the same. I didn’t realize I included identical spreads when I made the photos I’m sharing them anyway because there’s a lot of fun ideas worth sharing with other artists.
On days with pain I love to spend time in our local coffee shop and add collage art and write in my art journal. The best therapy happens with my beats, Mozart, and a tasty frappe. Sometimes my best thoughts and quotes come from these times of writing and creating. What’s your favorite thing to do that helps release stress or pain?
Dream big work with diligence and make dreams happen. A good life quote to meditate on for the next month. Add positive quotes and fun doodles with some collage art inside an art journal and have a photo memory book to look back on when you grow old. It will be fun one day to look through all my old art journals. What do you do with your old art journals?
When you have your soul mate you don’t need anything else.
The owl represents wisdom and the butterfly represents change and growth. Personal growth is important. Also important, taking authority over your thoughts, your words, and your life. Stay in His word and listen to positive words for a positive life. I always enjoy Joyce Meyer and her teaching.
Zentangle + Gems = Zengems
Doodling and destressing with Zengems. This one took longer than any of my other sketchbook spreads. It was by far the most relaxing and worth the time. I am excited to share the results of this finished work.

Think About It.
Listen without interrupting. Give without expectations. Love without ceasing. Encourage others with sencerity.
More therapeutic doodling.
Remember to be true to yourself.
Remember to be true to yourself. Remember to keep realistic expectations of yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others expectations of you but to who you can be and should be in Christ.
When it feels hope is lost remember to pray and listen for the Holy Spirit’s guidance. When things seem unattainable remember all things are possible through Christ Jesus and you have not because you ask not.
TRUE LOVE IN MY
One of my favorite things to journal about is my love of my life. My second love (because if I didn’t love Jesus first I couldn’t love my husband with a love like Jesus). I love to use college, doodles, and other various artwork in my Moleskine journal. It allows my freedom to be as creative and free in my art as I like. I enjoy adding my own words, funny things we say to each other in our every day lives, and even prayers and bible verses. My Molskine is whatever I want it to be and I can be as free and creative as I want to be. It is my art journal and it is random in thought, design, and has a great purpose.its greatest purpose is therapy for promoting positivity for myself and others who may find a good word or inspire positivity through my art.
I love to mix my art journal with fun inspiring quotes, bible verses, and sometimes I add personal prayers to my art journal. Most of all I love adding color with various materials and some collage from old magazines. Most of the time I insert the date and add either something personal about my day or something I would like to use to encourage or inspire others like an inspirational quote. This particular page was made on a cool day in the early spring when I was in need of a warm vacation. It was officially declared spring and it snowed the same week here. Journaling with art helps promote good health and happiness, especially when winter seems to take longer than it should. What’s in your Molskine??
